Christmas might be several days away, but you would not have known it if you were in Gulf Coast Market on Saturday, December 21. Thanks to Chairperson Cheryl Small, Elf Jimmy Lumpkins, volunteers, checkers and David Good’s brother, Santa Claus, The Big Store created a wonderful Christmas place for children of all ages. Girls and boys lined up to sit on Santa’s knee and whisper gift preferences while Cheryl entertained all with popular Christmas carols. Proud family members and store photographer Danny Norrid took pictures. The store photos are displayed on Facebook and the store website.
Every child received a special gift after they climbed off Santa’s knee. Cheryl and her group of elves helped Santa to provide presents for all the children who dropped in for the Christmas festivities. Then families headed to the big table loaded with cookies and punch.
Yes, all was merry and bright inside the market on Saturday afternoon. The Big Store displayed a really big heart and created a really big Christmas for our Bolivar Peninsula family.
