New Bolivar Water Tower

The brand new Bolivar Peninsula Special Utilities District water tower is taking shape. Thanks to a grant administered by Galveston County, the tower will be of no cost to rate payers on the peninsula. David with Bolivar Live met with the General Manager of Bolivar Utilities, Sheila Cunningham, to discuss the development. The new tower is four times bigger than the nostalgic blue landmark we all know. The 1 Million gallon tank will resemble the old tower with the same blue paint and red lettering. And the tower is moving right along to meet the projected full-service date of June 2022. Watch the video to hear about the future plans and emergency protocol in regards to the peninsula and water servicing.
