John Milby and Shannon O’Brien fired identical 64’s to edge 2012 Champ Mike VanZandt by one shot to share first place in the 2013 Ranch Par 3 Championship. Mark Meents shot 34-37 and David Buck 36-37 to round out the foursome. VanZandt opened with a 3 over par 30 on the front but the putter went South as VanZandt only managed one par on the back along with 8 bogies. Head golf pro Mike Mitchell watched putt after putt lip out as he near missed his way to a 73. Keith Nelson never found the range in his round of 22 over par 76.
David and Leonard Willis tied with matching 82’s. Mike Comeaux had a 35-32 (67) to capture fourth place and Dabney Harrison carded 5 double bogies on his way to a 16 over par 70. Milby won two skins, Dabney birdied the 172 yard ninth hole for his skin. Michael Comeaux’s par on the 192 yard 17th hole won him a skin and Mike VanZandt and Leonard Willis also picked up skins.
