Haunted Au Naturel

Creativity, don’t get in the way of an artist! I’ve learned, among other things, that I’m not one … artist, that is. Down here at the beach, if you ever thought it was laid back, let me tell you, there’s one thing after another to get involved in.

This past weekend, was Trunk or Treat at The Big Store. My sis-in-law, artiste and visionary, came up with the idea of decorating their golf cart. Well, not wanting to be left out, I asked if I could join in. Yep, so she included my golf cart. Word spread, and lo and behold if there wasn’t another golf cart who wanted to be included.

Au Naturel were the ingredients for the golf cart “scene,” so to speak. My sis-in-laws collected the entire stage from the beach, large washed up trees, coconuts, gnarly roots, palm fronds and stinky wet seaweed clumps. Annie decorated as much of the 3 golf carts as she could from the house, anticipating having to get the carts to The Big Store to actually set up. Trying to help, and being pretty helpless, all I could do was to hand her the scissors, tie-wraps, black tape and plastic, or hold down a palm frond as she secured it.

The results, as you can see pictured below, is the Haunted Forest, which, if I don’t mind saying so myself, Won First Place as “Best Decorated Vehicle.” Congrats Annie!

Not to mention, one of our Witches, won First Place Costume in the 15 “And Up” Contest. That’s her, Liz, otherwise known as “And Up!” Congrats Liz … She’s Au Naturel too …
