Happiness is when…

The laundry basket is empty for the first 5 seconds since I arrived last Wednesday. With three very active Littles ages 8, 6 and 4, every morning yields another load or two. School proved to be quite the challenge. The two oldest go to a private school 30 minutes away and the youngest goes only 3 days a week to a Morning Care. Grandpa and I sort of tag teamed on the drop offs and pick ups. I only got lost two times, thank goodness it was on the way back home, so nobody was late to school. We even took turns going to church since the kids had their church day on Thursday. I have to admit mine was quite peaceful. I also have to admit, caring for 3 kids is kind of like riding a bike, we’ve been there – done that, a little slower than we used to be.

I found out my littlest buddy likes WalMart just as much as I do, no problem getting him to accompany me. A bit more expensive though, he has to be rewarded – How many Lego set does one kid need?? We planned lots of activities like bowling, hiking, Children’s Museum, swimming lessons, Krispy Kreme, piano practicing, baking cookies and movies. Oh yes, if you’re in need of an action thriller, don’t miss The Lego Batman Movie. I don’t mean to spoil it for you, but Gotham City is safe again!

No school on Monday, they’re calling it a “Teacher’s Work Day,” I thought it was President’s Day?? I imagine Crystal Beach has done just fine without us, but don’t worry, we’ll bring back some sunshine into your lives real soon!

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you. Email: [email protected]
