The adventure getting there is more important than the final destination when you’re driving a Corvette. But when the destination is Crystal Beach, it’s debatable. For the 5th year cruising, the Tri-City Corvette Club Party Run was another revving success this past weekend. Over fifty corvettes made the run to Bolivar. The colors and sounds were noticed as they drove down Hwy 87 and ended at Lynn and Brad Metz’s beach house in Crystal Beach. It was a great gathering of over 100 Corvette enthusiasts with Corvettes of all years, from a graceful 1967 to brand new off-the-showroom models, and everything in between. And the creativity of some of the license plate names is amazing. Might as well leave your fellow drivers with something clever to read as they trail through your dust. The three clubs participating were the Tri-City Corvette Club of Beaumont, the East Texas Corvette Club of Lufkin, and the Contraband Corvette Club of Lake Charles. All Vette lovers were treated to beautiful October weather and great BBQ from Eaton Meats. Life’s a beach…especially when you see it through the windshield of a Corvette.
