The Lighthouse Krewe’s 2015 “25 YEARS OF BEADS AND BLING” Ball was held Saturday night at Steve’s Landing. After Cocktail hour of appetizers and a signature drink, the DoDah Parade was lead by Jesters Cody Wood & Ange Busceme! Brad Bradford, MC for the evening, introduced 2014 King Matt White and Queen Bobbey White as they made their final appearance as Royalty. After many special beads were tossed and hugs collected, they took their place behind the “thrones” to help the crowd welcome the new King Ed Riley and New Queen Fran Skiles. The Royal Court, consisting of Duchess’ Lois Riley, Shelly Butts, Mavis Hunstiger and Gloria Walker and Dukes, Larry Skiles, Danny Butts, Mark Hunstiger, and David Walker, followed King Ed and Queen Fran, handing out specialty beads as they wandered around the waiting crowd. The Passing of the Title began when King Matt placed a purple sash & sparkling tiara on New Queen Fran while Queen Bobbey placed a purple sash & shiny crown on New King Ed.
President Anne Willis welcomed members and guest to the 25th annual Mardi Gras Celebration! She invited all past Kings and Queens to the front to be recognized! Many past royalty were present to make this notable year even more special!!
After a first dance, lead by the New King Ed & Queen Fran, King Matt & Queen Bobbey joined in. They were followed by the court members, thus rounding out the festivities of the evening.
The crowd danced to the tunes of “The Port Arthur PlayBoys” until midnight! Chairpersons Eve Bradford and Connie Nobel decorated the tables with lovely large white vases with huge plumes of white feathers lite up from inside the vases. Gold table clothes, beads and doubloons rounded out the decor. Photos were taken by Eva Heller as the Royal Celebration danced and 2nd lined the night away!

What a fabulous celebration it was. Had a blast. Thanks Bobbey and Matt for being the greatest Royalty ever! Looking forward to the 2015 reign of Queen Fran and King Ed. Being a member of the Bolivar Peninsula Lighthouse Krewe is one of the most fun times I’ve ever had!
