A Holly, Jolly BPCF Christmas Party

By Linda Elissalde
Bolivar Peninsula Cultural Foundation (BPCF) called it a membership meeting, but it was really a holly, jolly Christmas party. An overview of past and future events accompanied by food food and drinks at Jose’s Cantina created a most festive evening. Special guest Amy Maxwell Chase provided exciting information on the upcoming renovation of Bolivar Point Lighthouse.

Newly elected officers for 2022 include President Anne Willis, VP Vicky Norris, Secretary Sherry Morgan, Treasurer Elinor Tinsley, Membership Chairperson Kelly Hover, Directors/Advisors Brenda Flanagan, Linda Spencer, Ange Scheibel and Marsha Fredenberg.

BPCF reviewed actives of the past year. The group donated $250 to Eagles for Generator Fund, visited The Rookery, sold light houses at Crab Fest, hosted guest speaker Hall Needham, held a Lighthouse painting contest, celebrated Mother of Texas Jane Long’s birthday, visited SETex Art Museum and donated lighthouses to Crenshaw and High Island Schools. That is quite a lot of activity in a year scarred by Covid-19. They are already planning a whole bunch of new projects for 2022.

You can join this interesting, generous and fun group. Annual membership fees for one year are $20. Mail checks to Bolivar Peninsula Cultural Foundation at PO Box 314, Port Bolivar, Texas 77650. Then look forward to a holly, jolly Christmas and a Happy New Year!
