Keep Bolivar Beautiful is at it again. KBB took on a huge task on Saturday at West Frenchtown Road Trash Cleanup. W. Frenchtown Road is near the ferry landing and has been a very popular fishing spot for many years. And because of its remote location, it has also been a popular trash dumping spot. The area was littered with discarded furniture, mattresses, and all types of household junk. In addition to the trash left behind by the many visitors to the area, there was also tires…lots of tires.
Keep Bolivar Beautiful knew something had to be done. They called for volunteers to do something about it and the community showed up. The assembled group of volunteers were treated to Krispy Kreme donuts to set the mood. Then they started loading the blue bags with smaller items. KBB even passed out the blue bags to the fishermen. George McMillan showed up with his heavy equipment and filled trailer loads with large debris. The volunteers kept at it for a few hours and were able to remove a small mountain of trash. This was piled at the end of the road where the County has agreed to pick it up and dispose of it all properly. Thanks to KBB and all the volunteers for continuing to Keep Bolivar Beautiful.

Amazing work for a cause. However, disgusting that people are so callous in their treatment of others homes and the nature they live in. The fines could never be enough. A camera should be set up and donations received to catch these criminals. 500 hours of community service should be a mandatory punishment. All on clean up efforts. Maybe then they will appreciate?!?!
