Bolivar Peninsula welcomes two new stores

Newcomers to the peninsula, Dean and Sophie Swain are introducing two new businesses to the Bolivar community – Texas Coastal Outdoors and Sophie’s Sea Shed. Texas Coastal Outdoors offers a wide selection of firearms and top end fishing gear, and Sophie’s Sea Shed specializes in hand painted decorated shells and custom beach items. Located in Crystal Beach on Hwy 87 at Tinkle Ln. (next to Jose’s Restaurant), store hours are Thursday through Sunday 12 PM to 6PM.

Are you still looking for the perfect Christmas gift? Texas Coastal Outdoors has an amazing supply of pistols, rifles, shotguns, ammo, fishing rods, reels, and general fishing gear, and Dean is in touch with several fishing guides in the area.

Sophie’s Sea Shed is not open yet, however, many of her creative designs are for sale upstairs. Stop by and visit Dean and Sophie, it is well worth a look.

Dean hails from Port Arthur and Sophie is a native of France. Dean is a U. S. Army veteran, having spent 27 years travelling the world as an Airborne Infantry specialist. During a trip to the beach a few years ago the couple decided that the beach is where they would like to live. They now reside in the Waterways Subdivision.
