The First Annual Polar Plunge on Bolivar Peninsula took place on Saturday, hosted by Bolivar Beach Club and RV Resort. This plunge typically takes place in Galveston but has moved to Bolivar. The polar plunge helps to raise funds for Special Olympics contestants of Texas, including training programs and competitions. Many participants ran to the shoreline and submerged themselves into the 55 degree waters, some individual swimmers, some groups, some dressed in costumes, but all in support of the same great cause.
Many thanks to the polar bears that brrrraved the cold waters. Special Olympics Teams around Texas thank you and hope to see you again next January!
