CPR/AED Class at Bay Vue UMC

BV-CPR_00By Linda Elissalde,
The Men’s Prayer Breakfast and Bay Vue United Methodist Church purchased an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to be stored in Fellowship Hall. George Strong invited the Peninsula EMS to provide CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training and teach members how to use the AED. Eighteen people attended the class that was taught by EMS responders Matt Summers, Dean Harryman and Gerald Looper. Members practiced the necessary skills on dummies provided by the instructors. Everyone participated in all activities.

Matt, Dean and Gerald were exceptionally good teachers. They patiently went over all the steps needed to help someone. Any group would benefit from a class provided by these fine instructors. Now, Bay Vue attendants are more equipped to help family or friends in distress. It was a great learning experience for everyone.
