Milby and Harrison Ride Hoss to Win Sunday; O’Brien Captures Thursday Par Three

Two under par cashed Sunday at the Ranch as John Milby, Dabney Harrison, and Hoss Strimple edged Shannon O’Brien, Aaron Comeaux, and Dewey Jones by one shot. Jason Pettit and Joe Ball took the Ghost and shot 37 as did Mike Comeaux, Sweet Charles Brannan, and George Flores. Will Armstrong and Lance Ferguson came in at 39, playing a twosome when Mike Mitchell was forced to withdraw after 6 holes. Dabney Harrison’s fall to a “B” player was the topic of much conversation Sunday. Harrison, an “A” player at the Ranch since 1998, needs to invest in golf clubs made this century in order to improve.

Shannon O’Brien started August on a good note Thursday on the Blue Course at the Ranch, shooting the low score of 31 and picking up two skins with a pair of birdies. If Shannon doesn’t quit picking our pockets, he’s gonna get a mailbox full of 1099’s. Mike VanZandt finished second at 32 and won the other two skins. Mike Comeaux and David Chandler had 33’s. Dewey Jones tied David Buchanan at 35. Head golf pro Mike Mitchell limped in at 38 and golf newbie Patty Atkins parred the last hole to shoot 40.
