What’s a weekend without a Grand around?

By Georgia Osten
I just don’t want to think about it. Waking up on Sunday morning to the smell of Addyson’s special pancakes, makes my mouth water just thinking about it! We met the family over in Galveston on Saturday afternoon after their swim lessons. The Spot was a destination, what a gorgeous day, sat outside, all of Galveston was alive with motorcycles and music. After lunch, we went our separate ways, Addyson was coming over to spend the weekend with us, we had a special treat this weekend. It was actually one of her Christmas presents, stayed tuned.

We started the puzzle, only 1000 piece puzzles will do in this family. She had her pick of three:

Which one do you think she picked?

We had all the pieces sorted and had started by Mass time. It’s okay, we were ready to begin just as soon as we returned home. Break time from puzzle meant another game, more Uno and then some Farkle. This girl – a chip off the old block!

After pancakes on Sunday morning, we played more games, worked more puzzle and then, almost reluctantly, began to get ready for our Big Date! We caught the 12:30 ferry, and made it over to Yaga’s for lunch. Our date was the performance Finding Neverland at The Grand.

Oh my gosh, the grandness of it all … We were up at the highest level of The Grand, but it was beautiful! Too close to the rail for some of our scaredy-cats, but they just chose to not look straight over the side.
Oh, what a wonderful performance, we were in awe. Best date ever!

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you. Email: [email protected]
