Trick or Treat

By Georgia Osten
I’m happy I had a project for this Halloween, it made me feel involved in a way. I volunteered to make cupcakes and cookies for one of the businesses for their cakewalk. The Big Store had the most wonderful aluminum cupcake holders – 4 holders with lids, each one held 6 cupcakes. I thought that was pretty awesome. Only thing is, I couldn’t count, it just didn’t register. I had two cake mixes that supposedly make 24 each (NOT), and I only bought one package of 24 holders.

Oh yeah, when I realized I didn’t have enough holders, I rushed out to The Big Store, praying they’d have another package. Whew, they did!
So, as a side note, the next day, I went into town to do my grocery shopping and guess what? Kroger had a sale on those cupcake holders, buy one, get one free …

Actually, the chocolate cake mix made 21 good size cupcakes. The white cake mix made barely 24 okay-sized cupcakes. It’s all good, we ended up with 3 left over which we ate for dessert last night.

I was assigned “Cub Reporter,” my job was to drive around to the different businesses to flash some pictures of what was going on. So, that’s what me and my co-pilot, Cathie, did.

“Chief” was on assignment at The Big Store getting pics of  ALL the kids in the costume contest. That was one humongous assignment.

I missed my little goblins (pictured below). The Middles celebrated Halloween in Israel with some other US folks they’ve met.

And the Friendswood ghouls were going strong.

Love and kisses to all my goblins near and far. That goes for the scariest two of all – those crazy college kids!
