Being Methodist in the Bible Belt

methodistBay Vue United Methodist Church is hosting a class on Methodist beliefs and doctrines called “Being Methodist in the Bible Belt”. The class will be held on Tuesdays from 5-6 pm beginning January 13. The class is based on the book by Belton Joyner, Jr, “Being Methodist in the Bible Belt”. “Some Methodists are confused about what are the actual doctrines and beliefs of the church”, said pastor Tom Stephenson. “This study is aimed at helping to clarify our beliefs in the midst of the pluralistic bible belt theology. United Methodists have a wonderful Wesleyan heritage that we should know and help to form our faith. I am hopeful this class will enlighten us to that heritage.” The class will run on six consecutive Tuesday evenings beginning January 13. The public is invited.
