Bingo

Georgia's Sand BucketBy Georgia Osten
It’s a Sunday, one week after we’ve returned from a very memorable trip to Tampa. A lot has gone on our first week back. A much-needed house cleaning, all beds stripped and washed, catch up on laundry from being gone for over a week. Maezy has settled into her routine, One-Dog-Household. She hasn’t missed a beat, back to her old tricks. She goes to “one” of her beds to watch while you prepare her breakfast or dinner. She tells you when she’s through with dinner so she can get her ice cream snack, then she tells you again when it’s time for after ice cream snack. And, of course, her clock is working again, only a bit earlier, when she tells you it’s time to go back to the beach for her end-of-day ritual.

I’ve gone back to work, trying to catch up, but Mondays are always demanding, whether it’s a payroll Monday or an off week. PawPaw has gone back to worrying about Crab Fest and the grounds and his upcoming meeting. It’s nice to get away, but always good to get back to our routines.

This Sunday though, we decided to go play Bingo. It’s a far cry from the old Bingo days at the CB Fire Station a hundred years ago! I’ve only been to Bingo at the Eagles a handful of times, but this was my husband’s first time. I led him to my SPECIAL table, the one I always sit at. Every time I’ve been is normally with family members and someone in my crowd always wins a game or two. The Locals are becoming aware, I’m pretty sure they’re NOT happy to see me show up.

After sitting there an hour across from some very dear friends, my husband asked “about how long does this usually take?” We all told him “We won’t get out of here until 5:00.” Poor Dear, his eyes rolled back in his head, Bless His Heart. That’s a long time for someone like my husband to sit still. I started praying he would win a game to uplift his spirits.

As luck would have it, I finally won the 10th game, the Stop Sign, paid out $100. And I didn’t have to share it with anybody!

Take time out of your busy schedule for some enjoyment, be it travel, dinner out, a dip in the pool or hot tub, or a little fun & games.
Stay Cool!
