Enthusiastic Enthusiasm!

By Linda Elissalde
Pastor Valerie Hudson’s sermon for June 12th at Bay Vue United Methodist Church explained the joys of serving God with enthusiasm. Bay Vue’s United Methodist Women (UMW) took that lesson to heart. They met Monday in Fellowship Hall and enthusiastically prepared 96 Vacation Bible School bags to hand out later in the summer.

President Elinor Tinsley and Sandi Covington planned what to place in each bag. Sandi and Laura Bryan traveled to SAM’S and purchased many of the items. UMW planned to meet Monday, June 13th at 11:00 AM to fill up the bags. Sandi arrived early. She set up directions at each “filling” station. Linda Elissalde came to change the church sign at 10:00 AM and stayed to help. Raquel Silverberg was early because of a later appointment. Lisa Neeb sailed in wearing her bathing suit from Women’s Water Aerobics. Sandi had everything so well laid out that the gals quickly stuffed all the bags. Vicki Norris and Laura Bryan got there in time to also help with several.

At the announced time of 11:00 AM, Dixie Rohan, Sherry Morgan and Jill Rutherford showed up to discover that all was finished. Nevertheless, the entire group was proud for such ENTHUSIASTIC ENTHUSIASM showed by those who completed the project. Pastor Hudson’s Sunday Sermon was a definite inspiration!

Doesn’t look too enthusiastic to me!!
