This past weekend we invited some friends over for burgers and beverages. This was on Friday night and ended on Sunday afternoon. RR and the guys started talking about the steps we had planned on putting up to the 5th wheel. And then the napkins came out with pen in hand and all of a sudden we had a plan for a small deck, rails and steps. We girls mostly just set there smiling and handing out deserts and more beverages. Believe it or not, by Saturday morning you could actually see the plans on the napkins and off the guys went for lumber.
Sometimes, when you are enjoying an evening like above, nothing comes to action. Well not this group. Needless to say, I was off to T Big Store Saturday about noon for beer and lunch fixings. We had another picnic and work carried on. By 4-ish we had a wonderful deck and stairs. One of the wives knew I would not have time to fix dinner, or a way to get into the house to fix dinner, so she made the most amazing dinner. Thank You! We sat at their home, chatted for a while, had desert and came home to crash in bed.

Sunday morning, as I am out for my morning walk, I marveled at the work done. I found my sweat band, sander and router and got busy. Some of the boards were still “wet” and full of chemicals, so I could not sand and/or router them. I did get most of them done and was quite proud of my handy work. We are blessed with good friends, good weather and a few fans to help out – and lots of noise from the cycles passing through. Grrrrrr! Oh Well the weekend is over and there is peace and quiet back In Our Paradise.
I suggested to RR that next year we should plan ahead and make reservations somewhere in the hill country for this type of weekend. You could join us if you want to.
I had a helper writing this story. The electricity was out for a few hours so I wrote outside. My helper’s name is Momma Kitty. Sweet Girl.
