When RR and I moved in here, one of the first things we purchased were rocking chairs for the front porch. We enjoyed our morning coffee and rocking, our main enjoyment was dreaming what fun or design to attempt next. But, remember we barely had a bed and two bar stools. I was designing many bulb beds around trees and cement curved benches with cement frogs and other animals around the white rocks. RR was dreaming about mowing the acreage plus me lopping dead limbs and killing ivy that was taking over the trees. Sometimes, I would forget and open my mouth about my designs. Of course, I would get this RR look, “Are You Crazy!?” “NO, I am not Crazy, this is what I think will be beautiful and the bulbs will multiply.” “How much edging do you think you can do?” “ How old are you?” Of course, that did it for the quiet coffee morning. “YOU know how old I am!!” Back to RR, “That is true but you don’t!!”
Most of the time, I would pick up my coffee cup and go inside to load the dishwasher. So much for lovely morning coffee, but it was getting warm outside, not just the weather!
This conversation took place many mornings, so finally I gave in and said I would only build one flower bed. You see, I had already studied this statement and devised a plan.
The west side of the house is full of sun and very sloped from the side of the house to the driveway. Of course, I never said I was going to plant the entire side of the house. It’s all one continuous bed. HeHe
I have kept my word. A year later, I still have only one flower bed. Now there is a nice bird bath with rocks around it and a sundial with hill country rock around it.
No flowers, hope that counts.
… Still Love Ya RR
