When the first knee went down in protest during our National Anthem I quit watching football. That was very hard to do, you see we have been fans of many teams along the years. For several years, we along with several other friends had season tickets to the Houston Oilers. We had all the gear, including cow bells our youngest daughter made for all the females in the group, I still have mine. Our seats were just behind the goal post on the metal temporary or movable seats and we took great joy stomping to make noise. Especially when Billy White Shoes would make a touchdown!
When the great coach wearing a hat and suit was with Dallas, RR was a great fan. I must say there were many a time we were on different sides of that game. Then our favorite coach went to work with the Saints and we were rooting for them, and still are to this day. Then when that terrible man took our Oilers to Tennessee I really never got over that, to this day I still call them should-be-Oilers.
Anyway, the point of this story is I finally watched a few games recently, of course one was the last game for the Saints, then the Vikings and Jacksonville. Both quarterbacks are from Texas, so that was a good enough reason in my brain to root for them. Well Darn, I guess I never should have turned on the TV. Now I understand how so many golfers dislike Tiger Woods, I feel the same way about New England! It is amazing how my brain works when it comes to football, of course those people in New England that play this game would totally disagree with me and a million other fans. But Gee! Can’t that dude not show up for the 4th quarter, just once!
P.S., I also stopped going to the baseball games when Nolan went to Dallas, I really stayed mad until that jerk sold the team. So there isn’t much reason for me to watch the super bowl, except for the commercials, oh and the food and drinks.

I am standing with you and our Nation. If we all take a stand and let the NFL know they exist because of their viewers, we can get there attention. So far no games in our home this season. We don’t even know who made the Super bowl. According to a report I read just the other day, the NFL’s ratings are down. So America keep up the support. Stand for the Anthem.
