gumbo00Saturday, April 26th, the place to be was the 3rd Annual Driftwood Charity Gumbo Cook-Off! Tents were spread all over Wayne and Diane Blanks’ property in Driftwood Subdivision. dixie0Saturday night, The Bolivar Peninsula Cultural Foundation presented The Dixie Swim Club production “The Faster We Swim – The Sooner We Win!” It’s a very sweet story about five Southern women who meet every August at a beach house on the North Carolina Outer Banks. The play focuses on four weekends during the thirty three year span to “catch up, laugh and meddle in each other’s lives.”

They’ve been here since the oil spill, ready to clean up any areas where oil may have come ashore.
